People too often are just doing what they think makes them happy or what makes them happy just for a short quick time, only to leave them more miserable than before. I completely agree with your statement "So I believe the key is finding out exactly what makes you happy." These expectations are taken too literally and many judgments are clouded based on what the future may hold. however like you also pointed out people find happiness in different things. and the security or the feeling of security derived from believing that the future holds something, is happiness in itself. but people may define their happiness contrary to what actually makes them happy.
