Considering it is the middle of 2018 I understand "Happy New Year!" is a weird thing to read. Looking at my last post, it has been slightly over a year and one week since I last posted anything, in fact, this blog has been down for almost 8 months now (I do not want to get into that right now... short version is, it was my fault). It was a much-needed sabbatical but I am back!
It has been a hell of a year since I last wrote. I have had a team member die while on a project, I have had to fire some people from projects where they were not performing and I have had client a disappear after a contract had been signed and unable to reach them. In the same year I have had some of the most exciting and most challenging projects of my career, I have been offered jobs so tempting it left me doing a deep introspection on my life and what I want out of it and I have been blessed to witness some decisions I made in blind faith materialize beyond I imagined them to. In short, it has been a great year and I am grateful for the good, the bad and the frustrating. The lessons learned have been invaluable.
So if my life has been so "great" why am I back to writing? I have found writing to be therapeutic for me. In a way it is like seeing a shrink once a week, trying to make sense of all the thoughts going on in my head and packaging them into something digestable, something coherent. It makes me a better and faster decision maker. Which is critical for me. If these thoughts and stories have value to someone else that will be fantastic, if not... like we say in Nigeria no wahala.
